Installation in a '69 Velle. Mechanical or Hydraulic clutch? If mech - did you have to cut the fire wall for the clutch rod? If hydraulic - did you like it & was it difficult to install?

I would go with the mech linkage. The only modification for the linkage is to cut a hole in the plate at the bottom of the steering column that mounts to the firewall for the clutch rod to go through. Here's what i did: Took the plate off the firewall, got the dust cover boot that mounts to the plate and aligned with the holes, marked the center, and made the hole from there. Besides that, the mech linkage is a bolt in deal. (P.S- If you need to get the linkage, GET AS MANY ORIG PARTS AS YOU CAN. Repro's tend to have issues with fitting....ask me how i know :clonk: )

Perfect pic man. That's what I needed!

OK I'll ask - I got a repro linkage kit from "Ground Up" parts house. What problems did you encounter???

First off, the Z-bar had a weird bend to it, not sure how they came original. Second, the Z-bar frame tab that bolts to the frame(where Z-bar bolts up) was bent wrong sending my linkage geometry out of wack. Third, was that where the clutch rod attaches to the pedal rubbed against the pedal assembly mounting(not the pedals themselves, but the whole assmbly they slide onto). lastly I had to end up running my clutch adjustment rod on the transmission side rather than the frame side of the z-bar. It was a staighter shot to the clutch fork this way. So all said and done, i had to modify the pedal assembly, get an orig z-bar frame tab, and put my adj rod on the other side. If i were to do it again, i would look for all orig stuff. Check out some of my previous posts:

Oh yea, i got 3 new frame tabs from 3 diff suppliers, all same bed...wrong. Got an orig from a team member, fit perfect. They may have fixed it by now, but be weary.

Well you're diff right! This kit is a POS. I can fix everything but will see if anybody has an original frame bracket up for sale.

lol, sounds like onick and I should have done ours together. I had all of the same problems he did. Im still using the small gauge flexible pos frame mount for the z bar. Hate to bash, but direct connections didnt give a rats ass as to the problems I was having. I will not buy from them again.

I noticed you straightened your z-bar lower lever. Did you find out later that it was not necessary to straighten it or should I straighten mine out too?

i'm still not sure what the fatory z-bar looks like. I straightened mine because after trying to line up the clutch rod with the fork, it seemed best so it wouldn't bind. Remember i am running mine on the opposite side that is shown in the manual. Not sure if bending was the best idea, but hey, it works. If i were you, i would set everthing up as is, then go from there to get everything to line up/not bind. Good luck! I've only been running this setup for abot 400miles (don't drive it as much as i'd like) and seems to be holding up....but down the line, who knows. If it fails me, i'm going to scrap all the aftermarket parts.
