I removed the vinyl top from my 72 Monte. It's gonna stay off. I need to slick up the area where the roof is welded on and then leaded into the rear quarter panel. My body man says bondo won't stick to lead. He says you first have to spray the leaded-in area with a 2-part epoxy primer which, he says, will stick to lead. The bondo will then, supposedly, stick to the epoxy primer.

Who know the where, why and how of a project like this?

I've never had any problems with filler over lead/body solder. Brass can be problems when covered with regular filler. it has a reaction over a period of time and bubbles the filler. Everglass can be applied over brass without any problems.
