My 67 Malibu rusted out under the rear window. I bought the panel from Harmon's, and was wondering what a fair price would be to have a body shop install it with primer? Thanks.

Your best bet is to take it to a couple of shops and compare estimates. Prices will vary by region. I'm guessing that San Diego body work will cost you more than say in Kansas City.

Hey there - being a fellow San Diegan, I've done quite a bit of research on some of the local body shops. If you need some help finding one, shoot me an e-mail, and I'll give you a good list of places to start.

San Diego is a funny town. Even though we're relatively large, you will play hell finding a performance auto shop around here. They are all up in North County, because San Diego proper is filled with a bunch of preppies and rednecks.

Help the man out. How many man hours would be a fair place to start. Knowing this is a good place to start.

Well to replace you got to R&I both the backglass and decklid. R&I time on backglass is 1.8hrs. To me R&I time on that decklid is worth 1hr. I got to remove and reinstall to check for right gaps then remove to weld, then put back on, its worth 1hr.

I would charge someone in the neighborhood of 6-7hrs to replace that panel in primer. Most shops in Iowa run around the 42-46 dollar per hour. I would say if you can find a shop that prices that panel somewhere in 500-600 dollar range will be fair.
