I tried to put a glob on the end like I do with liquid nails but it still got hard in the spout, Is there anything to cover the end to prevent this? Any tricks that you have come up with?

Thx.

I nabbed one of the little caps off an unopened tube of caulk. It still hardened, though. In the future I'll just plan on using an entire tube or as much as I can and toss it.

I used a rubber cap that came on a brake line, still nice and soft!

Try using a whatever size nail such as a 12 that will fit into the caulk tip tube leaving the nail head outside and against it. That will work.

I'll have to try some of these, I have some rubber caps that fit tight so I'm going to try that. I just hate throwing away 3/4 of a tube if I can help it.

Plain masking tape on the end works great for regular and silicone caulk tubes.

I use one of those rubber caps that come on fuel filters on both caulk and liquid nails tubes. They last for months stored like that.

For how long?
Nothing will keep it from hardening forever.

The last tube I opened I waited a few days & it had hardened.

Thats how I do it, but I use a screw. It will work depending on how big of a hole you cut in the tube...
