I replaced the roof skin on my 72 chevelle, what should I use to fill in where the lead was?

i used all metal and a skim coat filler over that,no problems,i also welded the whole seam and spot welded it

I know it is more difficult but releading was the way i went. I just didn't trust the synthetic materials to hold up over time, the lead has lasted almost 40 years.

Me to, when i installed my rear quarters i used all lead, zero filler.

You can use a lead free body solder if you choose, just be prepared for using some elbow grease. I used the Evercoat Metal Filler on my 69 Charger, then I put a skim coat of Rage Gold over top of it.
