: Valve Lift Question

I have a set of Holley heads that have an advertised Max valve lift of .600. I would like to drop in a VooDoo 60104 cam into my 350 SBC. Using 1.5 rocker arms the lift for that cam is .504/.525. I would like to upgrade to 1.6 rocker arms to gain a little lift. Using those 1.6 rocker arms the lift would be .537/.560. I thought I had read some place that you should have a .060 buffer to ensure that you do not run into spring coil binding. I was wondering if that was true and if I do upgrade to 1.6 rockers I am "likely" to have a problem.

Any thoughts on this would be most helpful.

Thanks.

.060 is the minimum coil bind clearance most cam companies suggest. If you springs are rated up to .600 lift, that would be the max lift without coil bind. Of course, you always would measure for coil bind before you ran it.

Oh I was going to check when I put them on, I was just trying to save myself the hassle of having to send parts back if they did not work. Thanks for the help.
