I like the console. It has the '69 Camaro look with the rectangle gauges in it.
I wonder what the sticker price would be?

I like it better than the 80's Camaro's, but no where near as nice as the 1st gen cars !

I finally saw the Camaro and Challenger last weekend and while I did like the Camaros look at first, seeing it in person made me realize......I love it!! I think it's a awesome looking car and GM got it perfect. The Challenger looks like the boring sedan that's pretty ugly looking. Wasn't impressed at all.

I think the new body style (at least on the concept car) is more suited to the convertible. Knowing Chevy, it will probably only be available with a 5.3 as a vert.

I think the new camaro is awesome, much less boring and overweight looking than the challenger, and the mustang...ick that thing just screams "secretary"

This is the best camaro design since the first gens by miles and its looking like its going to have balls to back it up, plus its rear wheel drive and should be a real all around performer, so I wish people would stop complaining so much. If you want a first gen that bad buy the damn thing, this is something new. The new challenger doesn't look any more like the old one than the camaro does, it just has that magnum/charger bloated look to it.

Coupe looks good. But I definitly would go for the vert.

I normally don't get involved in these kinds of issues, I usually just let everyone duke it out until the last drop of blood is spilled!
But, I feel compelled to respond.
GM, and PARTICULARLY Chev seems to have lost the vision of what stimulates people into buying a new car.
REGARDLESS of whether or not you like Ford and Ford products, such as the Mustang, it is obvious that Ford has hit a home run with the new Mustang. I DO NOT understand where GM's brain was when they dropped the Camaro/Firebird lines!!!!!!!!!! True, that niche of the market is small (pony cars, and Hi-perf pony cars), BUT, even though it is small, when a product with the GM logo is removed from the market, it simply leaves a void to be filled with someone else's logo. Thus, enter Ford--------------------WITH THE ONLY REMAINING PONY CAR ON THE U.S. MARKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only did this simply give away that niche of the market to another manufacturer, but with the great redesign of the Mustang, it appears to have become a genuine success!
OK, so the "new" Camaro will be out in the fall of 09. IN THE MEANTIME---------------------what will be filling that niche????????????? MUSTANGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, by then, what will be the ratio of new Mustangs to new Camaros, 5:1? 10:1? 100:1? It doesn't matter. By then, the Mustangs on the street will be soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo far ahead of the Camaros on the street that it will be unlikely that Chev can catch up----------------------MUCH LESS, SURPASS THE MUSTANG SALES!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know what has happened inside the board rooms of GM for the past 20-30yrs, but someone has sure had their head stuck someplace where the sun don't shine!

I know this is the wrong place for the FOR SALE ads, but I have a soapbox that I'm through with and I'll sell it real cheap.

I'll take an M6/LS7 model. By then, maybe they'll throw the LS9 in it. Oh wait, GM will do something to steer me away.

They need to just shut up about it and quit talking about it. By the time the stupid thing comes out the roof will be 4" higher than the prototype and it will probably have 4 doors. G.M. will ruin it by hyping it up so much for the next 3 years and hardly anyone will want one. Anyone remember the SSR?

So figure mid to high 40's with dealer markup and then add on taxes, etc.?

And I bet the dash and doorpanels still rattle. :D

I like it but it doesnt matter as I wont buy another "new" car for many, many years if ever.

I don't know what has happened inside the board rooms of GM for the past 20-30yrsGM was so busy planning a bankruptcy for unloading its 8 billion dollar pension, that it had no time for designing cars that people might actually purchase.

If the SSR had been priced in the reasonable range of 20-25 I would have owned one. At 48K no freaking way. Other than a corvette no car is worth more than 25K. For 25 K I can get a fine older car that appreciates in value.

The ridiculous prices they add on for engines options is out of hand. No way is a engine option worth 5 -10 grand difference. I don't care how much horsepower you have. When I can go out and buy a crate motor for 6K why should I have to pay 10 for it to be put in a factory car when they save the money on the engine they didn't put in?

No wonder I don't even look at new cars anymore, none of them look good, and they are way overpriced. WHile that Camaro convertible looks real sweet, I am sure a z-28 version will be 45 grand or more. Not me

That's why they are going Tango Uniform, it should be out this fall. Rebody the rear drive Holdens used for the GTO, or do an econo Vette chassis and drive train. Or send the plans to China, thats what GM did with the Cadillac according to this months Car and Driver. They licensed the design, etc. so one of the big sedans can be manufactured and sold in China.
