74540 Jan 5th, 07, 12:22 AM Anyone know about these tranny shops. 1) "The Toy Shop" in Ontario, Ca. 2) "Finish Line" in Wood Dale, IL. Looking to get a 4L80E built for my 540 with approx 600-700 hp. And they come with a 2400 stall converter. Don't let the ratings fool you. The 4l85e will easily handle the horsepower you're planning. I've used many of the 4l80s and 4l85s in higher HP applications and never had a problem. GM is definitely conservative on these ratings, but I can understand your apprehension if you're not familiar with these transmissions.
