I am wanting to put a cowl induction hood scoop on my stock 66 chevelle hood. I have been told that fiberglass scoops always end up cracking. Does any one know anything about the new steel cowl hood scoops that are out? Big Block Dave. If you are out there, Your scoop is just what I am looking for. Thanks in advance.

Go with the metal scoop and mig it on. Then finish with fiberglass. Not bondo filler. Make sure it's sanded really good to hold the filler you use. The fiberglass scoops crack because of too much flexing.

I would deffinately stay away from putting a fiberglass scoop on a steel hood. Either go all steel or all fiberglass. I don't have one but I hear Glass tech carries excellent fiberglass hood replacements with all kinds of different scoops.

I have a glasstek on my 65 and I bolted on in 20 minutes, by myself.
Fits perfect (just had to trim the back edge to clear the wiper arms 1/4"...
used the light springs from glasstec and used the stock hinges and hood latch.
I also am installing hood pins as added insurance...

Could you please post contact information for Glasstec, such as web or phone?
Thanks,

Steel, steel, steel. Did I say steel? Seriously, A steel hood is easier to align, looks better and just IS BETTER. I've done plenty of glass, but steel is the wat to go in my opinion.
