Well - I am dangerously close to dropping the body of my 69 malibu onto the frame. I have come to the realization that the previous owner should be kicked.... hard.
I have both rear fenders, inner wheel houses, and trunk floor replaced. Unfortunaetly, the outerwheel houses, trunk drop panel and trunk braces were not replaced...
SO, I am gonna do it - replace at least the outer wheel house and drop panel. I would prefer to use goodmark metal - but their webpage only lists coupe outer and trunk panels.
Can I use these - and how much of a PITA is this gonna be?

From my understanding, nobody makes an outer wheelhouse for the ragtops so you are pretty much stck with them. The ragtops' outers are flat at the top unlike the coupe, so you'll have to graft the new one on to the flat top of the old. Havent done it yet but am anticipating doing the same thing to my 69 rag.

Not quite the same thing here, but when I restored our old 69 Impala convert, I wanted to get new outers. Nobody made them - either hardtop or convert. Had a set cut out of a clean AZ hardtop and shipped to me in IL. My body man told me I should have saved my money - he had to pretty much just graft new lip sections onto the existing outers.
FWIW.

Sorry to push this back up...
I looked at my Wheel houses, and only the lower 10 inches or so in the rear need to be replaced. If I buy the coupe wells, could I cut the parts I needed and chunk the rest????
Anybody ever dun that?

That's what I was planning on. My buddy has a 70 Rag and that's what his body guy did.

I need to do this on a '68 chevelle convertible. Unfortunately the guy I am buying the convertible from has removed all of the outer wheelhouse and I have nothing to fab into. Has anyone modified the coupe outer Wheel Houses to work on the convertible? Can anyone send me a pattern or instructions on how much material to modify.
I would even settle for a picture of what the wheel house looks like with the quarter removed!
