OK, I've got all the body bolts out and am ready to lift the body off the frame.
I have two options as far as lifting the body.
1) straps and a bucket lift on our tractor or;
2) jacks and 4x6 lumber.
I'm considering using the jacks instead of the tractor cause manevering the tractor around in the garage is not going to be easy.
any do's and don'ts? what is the best location to place the jack as not to damage the body?

OK, I'm lookin under the wagon trying to figure where to place the lumber and jacks to lift the body from the frame.
any specifics as to where I should and shouldn't lift at?
Will the cargo pan in the rear support the weight of the body?
Should I lift one corner at a time or lift the front then the rear?
Thanks

Dwayne,
I've done this several times on my El Camino singlehandedly. It's a doable job, just take your time and be careful. Here's what I do:
I place short 4 x 4s up front, underneath the tranny tunnel in between the frame rails and jack up the front half of the body just enough to get a long 4x4 between the frame and body. I then jack this up later to the desired height.
Since a wagon is similar to an Elky in back, consider bolting a cable or chain between the tailgate hinge plates. You have to remove the tailgate to do this. Then you can lift the chain with your tractor or engine crane if you have one. This way you don't have to worry about buckling up the floor. (However, there crossmembers under there.) Get it high enough and place the timbers between body and frame, as in front.
Securing and stabilizing the body is up to you at this point. I use heavy-duty sawhorses and boat stands for this.
There are some pics of this on my web site if you want to shoot over for a look.

Is that the Tempest you're working on? We had one quite like it, same color too, except with woodgrain sides. Great car.

Yes thats the one I'm working on. Got the drivetrain ready to go in. Just need to get the body off to blast and powdercoat the frame and rebuild the front suspension.
Then, the dreaded body work.
