: 95 LT1 into 70 Chevelle???

I'm looking at a 95 LT1 Camaro in pretty decent shape and am thinking about parting it into my Chevelle project. The Chevelle is a frame-up resto that I'm doing in the pro-touring style. Right now the Chevelle is without any parts and so everything that might fit out of the Camaro would probably go into it. My questions are:
1. Very first off, is it even worth doing? Will an LT1/6 speed be a good match for the heavier Chevelle?
2. If I'm using the Hotchkis Upper and Lower A-Arms that are meant to use the F-body spindles, is this the correct spindles?
3. Will the front and rear brakes fit if I use the F-body spindles?
4. Will the engine/tranny combo fit without too much modification?
5. Can I use any other parts such as power steering box and pump, radiator, power window motors, windshield wiper motor, etc. work on the Chevelle?
6. Would anybody else do this?

Thanks for any input you all give me.

PM Derek69SS. He has a 69 Malibu with a 95 Caprice cop motor, LT-1 in it.

I can say this. An aftermarket harness for the wiring isnt cheap, something like 500-600 bucks. The engine will bolt right in, but the crossmember may need attention. Not sure on that. The rear discs will fit right up with the Chevelle. Power steering pump will be needed but might interfere with the stock steering box. I never looked that close at the details on his 69 so I may be off. The cooling system is a closed system that uses an external tank to fill the system so that will be needed also as the Caprice radiator does not have a filler neck. You will also need to add fittings to the exhaust for the O2 sensors. I personally would go with a LS1 setup instead but if you already have the engine and trans, you can certainly use that. There are lots of aftermarket support for this conversion.

Rusty, the biggest part is the wiring. If you are comfortable with that the rest is pretty basic. The original harness can be modified if the plug ends are not brittle. Yes,the aftermarket harness's are expensive but they save a lot of time. I have done it both ways. When I did my 70 I used a 4L60e with 3.42 gears and it was very peppy. You can use all the F-body driven accessories if you set the right motor mount back. If you have any other questions just ask.
