Sooner Chevy

I painted a car. I can’t believe it. It turned out great. I thought about taking a vo-tech class, but instead I just researched it and thought I would do it. I have taught myself how to build engines and how to put fuel injection on old cars. I thought, well maybe I can do this also.
I bought the right tools and materials. Spent the time to do it right. I am building a 71 Chevelle, but thought I would try to paint on my 1999 Silverado (which needed lots of bodywork). I thought, “if I can paint my truck and it turns out okay, I’ll paint my Chevelle.” Well my friends the truck looks great. Pics coming soon.
I have viewed this board for years, quietly absorbing a wealth of knowledge. But I just had to let you know your help has been invaluable.
I make my living in an office behind a computer, but my hobby has been turning wrenches for years. People who only know me professionally are astounded when they find out what I can do on a car. Now that I can paint, I feel like I can do anything on a car I choose.
Special thanks to Sevt_Chevelle and Martinsr, espically the “basics of spray gun setup” by Martinsr. Great info.
