Been a while since i posted any pics of my work related projects, so i figured since this one is in the perfect stage for some pics, i'll post em!

We're stepping out of our realm at work, and building a car for the salt flats! Planning something in the area of a turbo charged Big block.

However since the car will always be drag-capable i'm building the cage to satisfy the drag rules, and fall under the salf flat rules as well. they fallow closely, but the salf flat rules have some interesting aspects that i like.

All of the un-painted tubing is my work, i added the funny car cage, X-bars in the doors, and will add further tubing as the project progresses.

this is a portion of what will become a removable dog house for the driveshaft, with the portion in between being .080 steel or .125 steel plate, rolled to the contour of the other bends.

Looks great Brian. Any progress on your S/S headers?

I am starting on mine now -- man it takes a lot of time to cut square flange holes!

You are gifted, your work never fails to impress me. Since you are young I can only imagine the projects that will come your way as you add to your portfolio - and become known independently of the shop where you work.

I don't remember what your background is, but have you considered studying engineering and design? I'm thinking that your terrific hands on skills combined with knowledge of theory would be killer.

I love your shop project postings, keep them coming!

When are you going to learn how to weld buddy?
Oh, the pictures tell the story.
Very nice work, it's like art.
I should have been a mechanical engineer instead of an electrical engineer.
Never had a mentor as a young man.........but on the other hand, the electronics indrusty has been good to me.

Kudos on the work and the education. Appreciate it, you will go far and have a leg up on the majority of the population.
Maybe a bit sappy here, but I really appreciate a young man with direction in a world of young folks who have no direction but are good at video games!
Happy New Year Brian.

MINGYA! Trouble here young man, you and are are starting to think alike! Well, the turbo bb dream is a "lotto" dream for me, but..... methinks you are a stickman by heredity.... your mom and dad aren't cousins of Ronnie Sox (RIP) are they!? :)

Well, in one important way you're a ton better than me, as I tried , unsucessfully , to run a Bridgeport like my dad did....boss let me in the welding booth ONCE to do some non-critical MIG work... ONCE... handwriting on the wall, I signed up for college and took poly sci!

POINT: When you recognize that the Creator gave you a gift, its nearly a sin not to use it. And you're using it well!

Very impressive work, Brian. Too bad we're not closer or I would get you to do the cage in my car, that's assuming I could afford you lol.
