thanks guys graemlins/beers.gif

Reclearing it is just as much work as repainting it. Tell them to get ir right or you will take it to a shop that will, and they can pay. ;)

Tell them to make spray out cards and TEST the color before they spray your car!!

Making a simple spary out card is WAY easier then spraying a car.

ya i am starting to think that all there is is a bunch of morons working there at that shop. WAS a well known and trusted shop. State farm even recommened it to me

btw how hard is it to match a fender when repainting it. i know there could me a little difference, but u would have to really look at it for a while to notice. but this paint job i saw it 100 ft from the car even before i got there and could tell i was not happy with it.

the color is a med metallic blue

thanks graemlins/thumbsup.gif

id be pissed as hell if that happened, their no suppose to 'eyeball' the amount of this stuff to add, there are very specific proportions that are determined by professionals, id demand a repaint.

they wont blend it they said they HAVE TO STOP it at a seam. Im really starting to get pissed now. they called today and said it will not be done until monday when they promised me it would be done this last Friday morning. its going on over 2 weeks now

stoped by there shop after work today and saw it sitting there inside with liquid rubbing compound plattered on car like they took the bottle and squirted it on car to buff it out  . thing is it is going to sit like that until monday cause there off sunday. im sure its not good for that stuff to sit on new fresh paint in globbs for about 2 days graemlins/clonk.gif graemlins/angry.gif graemlins/angry.gif

If they repaired the 1/4 blend, into the door AND decklid if necessary. On some lighter metallics too much clear will really darken the color also, say with no color sprayed and only sprayed 3 coats of clear on one panel you will see a pretty big difference. If your not happy this time I'd take it somewhere else AND make sure they are gonna guarantee all that paint also. Mike

Ask your agent if they were paid to blend it. If not then why??

Now days shops are given very specific breakdowns of what they are being paid to do. That's insurance work.

Paint match can be a pain if paint is older or an unknown color. I've seen my buddy do some impressive matching by just "eyeballing" it. But then he's been doing this all his life.

As tempting as it may be in my experiences, even if they are taking longer than said I've learned not to push. I know what happens when we're pushed in my profession..........things get done halfass.

Good luck!!
