i just put a small scratch in my paint. it appears the scratch is just in the clear coat. can anyone suggest how to get the scratch out. thanks

if the scratch is only in the clear then youwould wetsand that spot with 2000 grit wet and dry sandpaper on a rubber block and sqeegee it dry after every 10 passes or so to see if the scracth is still visible.when the scratch is gone then its time to polish it with a medium grit polish,proceed till the sand scratches are not visible .next clean off the polish onthat panel with clean water and polish with a fine grit polish .wash off and use a finishing glaze,wax and you're done.[allthe above is easier with a polishing machine but could be done by hand if you don't mind a little elbow grease.
