The first coat of POR don't look as good as I expected. I think I did not do a good job of removing the metal ready. Shouldn't I be able to rough it up some and recoat it without any problem. I did it late this evening and will have to wait till late tommorrow to finish. Will I have any problems?

I have yet to do my second coat either. The instructions say that if the por has cured, rought it up with sand paper and hit it with another coat so that it will stick.

i have done many many parts with a second coat a day or so later without any problems. if it is not too much trouble go ahead a rough it up a little first, if not i would not worry about it. just give it another coat.

I have found that I need to filter the stuff through a paint filter or I see what looks like grains of sand in the finish. Is this what you're seeing? My paint supplier said up to a week and you can still apply a second coat. From experience, a day or two is fine.

I put a second coat on yesterday and it now looks a lot better. I think it needs one more but the last one should come after I do the inside.
