Well i ran into this guy at local tavern/resturaunt and he was talkin about all these cars he has and he mentioned a 71 malibu 350 So i go to his junk yard and there is a 71 malibu 350 green/green and it has a nice dash no pad,all good glass, some nice chrome pieces drip moldings etc..,very clean front end fenders, hood,no motor/trans,manual brakes, floors and rockers looked good but rear qrters were shot and looks like it was hit in rear trunk and tail panel pushed in slightly, so he says he wants 1000 for it and it has alot of parts i would like and if the frame is good i know a guy lookin for one, He is an old drunken type of guy and his bud told me he is hurtin for cash so my question is what should i offer for the car?? i was thinkin like 400 cash in hand ?? any other ideas?? Thanx

Take $1000 and put it in your pocket, walk up and offer him $500, if he says no go $100 higher until he says "yes"...

no others at all most of his stuff is crap like lots of 70`s cadi stuff and tons of 80`s rivieras, montes, grand pixs, etc to me without seeing the rear in clear condition as it is stuck back in some weeds and cant realy see it all that well its a parts car!

Damn, I was expecting to see some piece of junk. Does it run? I know everyone wants to get the best deal of the century, but that car is worth far more than 400.00. In fact it likely is worth more than a 1000.00. At least give him close to what he is asking.

Are we actually talking about this car (below) :http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a351/Tonystoys123/singleshot.jpg

:p oh crap, my apologies. that is pretty funny. I was thinking I'd have given the guy more money than the 1000.00 and still be stealing it. LOL.

Well he did mention the car didn't have an engine so unless there's holes in the floor boards for Fred Flintstone to stick his feet thru to give it some motivation, I'd guess it doesn't run.

And if this car below were for sale for $1000, I'd be on it like white on rice, hell I'd even give you a $1000 tip.

yea, you're right; i read it rather loosely, but on my behalf, i've been inhaling paint fumes all day working on the car.

I like green... I have a Cottonwood green '71 I'm finishing now...

Do you know how much a nice original fender costs?

Start at $600 and work up by $200 increments until you hit $1000.

those cars arent worth anything really so i would offer scrap price...some people think cars like that are worth alot but I would say 12.50 dollars...you have to considor the price of gas to haul it
