: Anyone running exhaust through rear valance on a 70-72?

Working on various things to get my car ready for paint & got looking at the tail pipes and thought it would be cool to tuck them up higher & run them out the valance. Anyone done this? Pictures would be great.
Also if you have done this, How dirty does the valance get? How much clearance fron the tips to the valance do I need?

Thx.

I like the idea. I ran downturn tips to clear it, but have wondered this myself. My rear valence gets a little dirty, but part of it was from the original exhaust being right under it and blackening it. I would examine some of the '60s Vettes that had it. I would think you would need 1-2" sticking out to also go past the bumper area too.

I wonder if the rear valance from a 70-72 GTO would work because it already has the cutouts there where the "twin tips" protruded on both sides. the GTO twin tips are about as wide as the Chevelle tips.

Here's a pic of a GTO - The bumper looks "flatter" so I don't think the valance would work. I was thinking more along the lines of a "Hole" through the valance. Maybe there is not enough room. I thought someone posted a pic a while back of a setup like this.
