If you want NEW and updated thermo plastic wiring .....yes it is Worth it in the long run. NOS parts will cost you 10 times that amount if you can even find them. used original pieces are just that USED 36 YEAR OLD WORN OUT AND OVER PRICED !!!!
I have used that kit before {not from that seller} cost me 1500.00 worked out ok ...was a pain in the a** but thats because it was my first time in a dash nightmare :D
after market pieces have the advantage of newer technology but the fit is not always the best and if you buy it all separate you'll spend that much anyway,at least that way theres only one person to go to with a problem
I would recommend you use a supplier with good tek. support.
and you can use your old engine and forward lamp harness there will be some ad on wiring needed to do that. If your doing the whole car get new updated engine bay harness too. I got mine from M&H cost 360.00 firewall forward ...complete with every little detail and they custom made it for updated hei ignition and si internal regulated alt. it looks awesome

SS cars are in demand and thus the high prices on this sort of stuff.I have the dash in my car and upper pad.I used them with my original cluster. My car is a real documented ss.my original dash was in terrible shape. It nice to be able to buy these short of things. But of course a lot of clone cars are being put together and sold as real with the help of these clusters. So its a double edge sword type of thing. So is it worth it well ya if your trying to restore a $50,000 car.And lets say one thats buying a car best do there home work first and make sure they buy a real SS.So to sum it up as long as these cars bring big bucks the repro parts will be pricey. To be honest i think theres more phony SS cars out there now than real ones

I know tha there is a lot of SS replicas out there, and that's fine with me has long they are being sold has REPLICA,But has we all know that there are a lot of scammers that try to sell replicas for the real thing, and that's where you need to do your home work if you want the real thing. I think the reason why there is a lot of replicas cars out thre is because the price of the original ones are out of reach for a lot of people who always wanted a SS,but can't afford the real thing.
What I'm triying to do is finish the rest of the SS swap that was started from the original owner of the car that I just bought.I purchased my car fully knowing that it was a recreation, there fore no need for me to look for maching numbers.I personally like the SS dash,I'm planning in keeping the car and enjoy it for now,and If I decide so sell it in the future with or with out all the SS emblems it will still be sold has a nicely done SS
REPLICA.Thanks

Try to buy all the parts seperately (new), and you will pay more than the kit price in the long run. Add it up:
Dash: $300.00
Gauge Cluster: $800.00
Wiring Harness: $400.00
Glove Box Door: $40.00
Gauge Lense: $50.00
Lower Steering Column Cover: $30.00
Total: $1620.00
Now consider shipping and handling if you purchased each item from a different seller vs. one? Also, if there are any problems with any of the parts, you only need to contact one person. There are other retailers selling kits like this for a lot more money. Shop around, but I think this kit is a fair deal.
