Getting my engine bay ready for my 461, and decided against the stock GROTTO BLUE. Went with 'Cortez Silver, and am I ever glad. Buddy who was over helping drink my beer and be foreman also agreed. Silver with the SS stripe is gonna be the stuff.
Just wanted to share with y'all how motivating a couple cans of paint can be.

No, we're old school. No goggles used. Actually MGD paint. And yeah, it looks pretty good for a midnite spray job.
I had a couple rattle cans made up at local paint store, and it flowed nicely. I just asked them to make up 1969 Cortez silver. The paint guy said it was a Chevelle and a Corvette color. I had painted the firewall the Grotto blue first, and it just didn't have the muscle car feel I wanted. Really like the way the silver turned out.
And yeah, a couple o' beers helped to steady the spraying hand.
