I am pulling my 402 w/Hookers and was wondering if I needed to unbolt the headers first or will there be room with them attached. I am also leaving my bellhousing on.
Thanks for your help and Happy New Year :D :D

It would be a challenge to take out the engine with them on.

unbolt them (from pipes too) but leave them where they lay, thats also the best way ive found to install headers or header/engine combo, lay the headers in there (maybe some wire to hold them in place if needed) and drop the engine in....why unbolt the bell housing?, even with auto trans i leave it on the motor, why lay under the car and fight with it if you can work on it on the floor? with a gm auto it seems to hang itself pretty well to remove them both and a 4-speed is even easier...imnsho

btw, i saw harbor frieght has a pretty beefy looking engine hoist balancer for the same 20 bucks or so i paid for a piece of crap i had to rebuild with a set of thrust washers, gussets and a better crank (which did the trick and was much better than paying the 70 to 100 bucks or whatever some places want for them)
