I have a fairly fresh 283 with 896 heads. I don't want to swap the motor out of my car (64 chevelle by the way), but I would like a little more out of it. It has a 2bbl carb and intake now and MSD 6a and pro billet distrubutor. What heads and cam would you guys recommend? I plan on 4 bbl carb to go with it, too. It's a 4 speed car, also. Thanks!

for a 283 i would just leave it alone,except for the 4bbl that will help
a 283 is not a power house by any means,i've tried them with cams and head combo's and was happier with stock set up
not sure what your running for gears but i have had better luck playing with them than trying to get more power out of it
my next project is getting 283 with 305 heads with 58cc chambers ,old style allum intake with 4 bbl with either a 200r or 700r4 behind it with 331 gears
should make a good daily out of it,,,just my thoughts
