Hey, hey! Welcome aboard! Whataya mean, my Dad had?! I had one of these cars when I was young! Maybe I'm just showing my age, now. There's nothing like the feel of a Chevelle. Good to see another one coming back to life. Good luck, Keep your head down over there, and hurry home.

hey slowlowford, good to hear from a soldier. Who are you with (army, marines) Division? etc. When is your tour over? Congratulations on the chevelle aquisition and I know you'll have fun. What is your job/rank over there? My brother was a Captain with the California National Guard 1-184 and detached to the Hawiian 1-487 Artillery. They were under the 3ID out of Fort Stewart, GA. He was the FSO at FOB Falcon just south west of Baghdad. Unfortunately he was KIA by an IED while volunteering to be on a consequence team after "operation clean swep" on Oct. 29, 2005. WE are very proud of what he and all of you guys are doing. I know that our soldiers and most of the normal Iraqis are looking for a brighter future.

Thanks a lot we really apprecieate the support. Also sorry to hear about your brother, he died for a VERY important cause him and his fellow soliders kept us and the average Iraqi person safe. The amount of weapons and munitions found during those sweeps was amazing. Well I am a SSgt. in the USAF station out of Idaho. That is about all can tell you I know that sound cheesy but it is the truth. and I am looking forward to coming back and starting on the car.

Hi, and wish you all over there well. I am also a war vet, Vietnam,68-69. When I was away I too was interested in muscle cars, prior to Nam I had a 66 gto. Then my present to myself when I came home in oct 69, was to order a never driven, new, beautiful ,red, m22, 4 speed.ls6............ Need I say more... Well that chevelle is long gone, sorry to say,but I have another now since 87..I understand how it is to be away, also very familar with just how great the parties can be...You in the years to come will most often remember the good times when you think back.. And for those other " other" times, keep them inside for your personal use.. Be safe. I wish you and your friends a safe return. My heart goes out to you and will keep you safe.. a friend who knows... phil ny

Hey -- let us all know what the real feeling of the Iraqi people is once Saddam is gone for good (hopefully in the next day or so). I get so fed up with our BS media coverage on the whole Iraq situation -- it would be good to hear some truth if you are permitted to share it.

Thanks for your service,
Dave (SSG, US Army 1983-1998)

I believe that deed is done already. Nevermind, I think I may have been wrong. It happened once before, but I was mistaken.

I was referring to his execution, "BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Saddam Hussein will be executed no later than Saturday, said an Iraqi judge authorized to attend his hanging."

I was too, I thought they did it earlier today. Then I went to a few news sites and saw it wasn't done yet, so I edited to say I was wrong. :D

Well its over hopefully the people of Iraq use it as a new beginning. I was still asleep when it happened but some of my friends said you could hear celebrating in the town after his execution. But in the next couple weeks we will be able to see the impact. I would like to thank everyone for there support and I have been sharing the post with my airman to reassure them that they are supported thanks again, Will
