Does anyone have any tips to remove a 66 chevelle off the frame. I am afraid i will damage the floor boards if i lift it off the frame there. How and where can i lift the body without any damage.
thanks

Strip entire interior out. I used a cherry picker on frt with short chain located in frt frame mount brackets and 3 friends in rear, burned bolts off with a torch beforehand. Roll chassis forward enough to block up rear half and keep moving manpower forward. U get the picture.

As Frank said pull everything out. I removed everything that wasn't bolted down and I mean everything.
With everything disconnected my brother and I took a couple high lift floor jacks and lifted at the rear supported by a 4x4 and cinder blocks...then the front with a 4x4 and repeated until we had it up enough to roll the frame out. The 4x4s were positioned at the body mounts.
Take it slow and easy, make sure everything is well supported before the next step. If ya email me I'll send ya some pix of what we did.
We did it with just two people and no special equipment due to $$ and space constraints. It's supported well and I've been in and out and over and under without any worries. But just remember SAFETY first. Dont' want you or a friend to get caught under it.

Well, I did it the old fashioned way: brute force. 6 buddies, 2 on each side. It worked just fine. rb6667
