The '66 convertible went to the media blaster this morning. After 3 years the body finally left the garage. graemlins/hurray.gif

The guy showed me around his operation. Kinda crowded but he has a collision shop and does the media blasting too. He is going to shoot everything with Dupont 615S EtchPrimer. This is his etch primer of choice....any comments?? And where can I get the Dupont Tech sheet for this primer?

Should be out next week then on to the sheetmetal replace/repair. I have an agressive schedule from here and hopep to have it in "RED" before the snow melts... :D graemlins/thumbsup.gif :D

Cant go wrong with 615. Just be a aware that it has to be removed anywhere your putting plastic filler.

Agree the 615 variprime is a GREAT product, in my opinion probably one of best etches out there. Also like what 70isfine said you MUST remove the 615 on any area you plan on using plastic filler. The chemical reactions that the filler goes throu will lift the etch.

NEVER APPLY FILLER OVER ETCH
BUT YOU CAN APPLY ETCH OVER FILLER

Also in the tech sheets it stats that variprime must be sanded after 24hrs, I would use a red scotchbrite pad. As for the tech sheets you can get them at a auto supply store that sells Dupont. Also they do have a website but not sure of the address, just found out last night that
www.standox.com (http://www.standox.com) will take you to the Dupont website as dupont bought out standox. Its kinda a round about way but will take you there
