Where it is very windy at the moment.

I have recently bought a 1970 SS 396 Chevelle after selling my 62 Bel Air Bubble top. I had sold a 67 Malibu to get the Bel Air and even though the Bel Air was a great car, I really missed the Malibu. I bought a 70 Malibu for my two daughters to work on a few years back and driving that car really made me miss owning a Chevelle more and more.

I have been a member of ChevyTalk for several years but since the classics I own are both Chevelles I thought this would be a good place to hang out and get information.

I have also been an ACES member since 2000 (or so?).

I have checked out a lot of the forums here and find that there is a lot of great information and the members seem to respect each other more than members at a lot of other on-line forums. I will still visit ChevyTalk as chevydad56 from time to time, but think this is where I will spend most of my limited on-line time.

We are on the South end of the central coast. Santa Barbara to be exact.

I havent been to many shows up your way but we plan to get up to some of them this year or next.

The SS is red, blk stripes with black bench seat interior. The correct color for my car according to the build sheet is Dupont Gold metallic 98457. The car has the ZP3 special paint code.

Sounds like a cool car...you're a little further away than I thought..

Hey Tony.
welcome to the best car site around.
I'm not too far away.
You ever get up this way to any of the car shows?
I thought SB was considered south coast???

Nate, I think we here use both terms. Some people think South is always LA and we are NOT LA! as you know.

I plan on trying to get up to Paso or Atascadero for some of the shows this year if it works.

We are celebrating 30 years of marriage so we are going to Italy in June so I don't know if which shows we will make this summer.

Great to have you on board, you will find tha you have many friends close by. I would like to add a 70 to my 69 some day so post up some pictures. I think 70 may have been the pinnacle for Chevelle. Bring that car to Hot August Nights in Reno, this year we would love to see you.
