can any one help me???
i have a 69 chevelle that at one time had factory A/C that has since removed.i have had the car for 20 years so thats the way it came when i bought it.i am now trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle back together with little info.a few months ago i bought what i thought was a heater box from a 69 SS chevelle A/C car off ebay.since then i changed the heater core, gaskets and painted the box to look like new.i was sooooooooo happy with it.
then while looking on Ebay again i found another heater box from another 69 ss chevelle A/C car.the auction has pictures of the box, from the front the non A/C and A/C heater boxes look the same.but when i took a closer look at the backside and side view pictures of this other box.they are different with the A/C heater box showing vaccum pods mounted on the side and back.plus there is a outlet on the back that is turned at a 45 degrees compared to a 90 degrees for the non A/C box.
so here my question.
can i use the one i have now for my A/C car?can i convert a non A/C heater to a A/C heater box or do i have to go out and get a A/C heater box for an A/C car?
i have enclosed some pictures so you can see what i mean.

This one is the 69 box (http://www.chevelles.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4949&d=1167268343).

This one is a 70 - 72 box (http://www.chevelles.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4950&d=1167268370).

The reason why there are no vacuum actuators on the 69 is, 69s have vacuum operated plenum and recirc valves only all other control is manual/cable operated.

70-72s have vacuum operated plenum and recirc valves, vacuum operated floor/dash split and vacuum operated defrost. The temp control is manual/cable operated.

The plenum and recirc valves are not part of the A/C heat box.
