I asked at the Mustang web site.......But I always get better Ford answers here! :)

I have a '87 GT 5.0. My question is where do the wires for the oxygen sensors come out of the firewall/wire harness, and what color are they. I bought and have driven it for over 2 yrs, and it runs real good, now it is starting to idle high sometimes (IAC, or dirty TB) but I was wondering what the po did to it. It has no cats, and it has one OS in the drivers side with no wires to it and no OS in the pass side (suppose to be). My "check engine" light comes on when I first start it, and then goes off like it should! '87 is speed density
I have my house up for sale, and have ALL my shop manuals packed and in storage! :(

Thanks Pat

I have to agree, it runs to good for them not to be hooked up to oxygen sensors. There is another one I have seen pic's of and it looks like wires shrink wrapped (could be hard to find), so I need to know where to look and what wires to look for.

Thanks for the info!
I had taken the car to a quick change oil shop (about year ago), because it's lowered and with the GT ground affects, I have to get out my small scissor jack to get my smaller floor jack under the car! and the oil place I can just drive over their pit. (free) and he told me where my oil leak was, and I asked about my oxygen sensors, and my exhaust. Today I decided to change the oil and look at the underside of the car, and it does have both sensors, drivers side has the 3 wires hanging from it, and pass side is hooked up. I'm going to have to put it in the air to see where the other end of the wires are! but it still runs good without the one hooked up, and I don't get a light, and no cats on it.

You can't trust anyone to look for you!

This would be best asked on Stangnet. There is an EEC4 guru, jrichker, on there that can answer this. I don't have my EEC4 books with me either, they are at home, and I have moved. My 5.0 cars are carbed, my four banger is injected.

Someone on Stangnet should know, or do some searches, or try the Autozone web site, they have wiring diagrams. I think there are some wiring diagrams on Stangnet.
