I have read that the latch should be coated with zinc and also the catch . Is this correct? Does the catch get paint natural zinc all the way to the release handle inside the bumper or just on the top up by the core support. Thanks guys .Finally getting down to the little details after a year of waiting for the car to get painted.

Yes most all are Phosphate. Some, as the photo shows had the spring dipped in black paint. I have had more all phosphate then the painted spring.
