Jerry here, in Salem Oregon and I have a real 69 Chevelle SS. I took out the old 402 and am ready to order the new 565" to 582" SB to mate with my turbo 400. I want to stay low-deck to avoid the comoplications with PB can, header fitment, etc., but am stuck on the exact size. What makes it worse is they all cost nearly the same in short block version! I may see a red flag in the distance, with the custom piston for the 582" and maybe some other extra costs with it. Maybe 565"? Any one have good or bad experience with these series? I have Merlin 345 heads, Hookers, a 3000 converter, and will be 95% street using it (on pump gas, looking for 10:1 CR). Will use a hydraulic roller, but cam recommendations have been all over the map. I'm all ears........

Hello and welcome Jerry. Sounds like you want a big cube torquer. Are you sure that's a SB and not a BB? Good luck with the project.

Welcome aboard Jerry. You might want to jump into the performance forum with your question. Lots of BB guys who have a lot of knowledge to share in there.
