I have come across a 12 bolt rear that "came off of a 67 Chevelle SS". I have the numbers and I was wondering if anyone could help me with it. On the pumpkin, the number is 3894939. On the right axel tube is KX 1027 and then below that is F and about a half inch away is B. Also on the pumpkin is G18. I'm pretty sure on the numbers. The only problem is the right tube one. 67 rears don't show a KX code.

The casting number 3894939 comes up 67 but the G18 is July 1, 1968 which would put it as a 68, also the KX number could work for either 67 or 68 but my guess it's a 68 because of the G18 number. I would measure the width to be sure. I'm by no means an expert, just using available reference materials.

The '67 rear end is 60 inches wide over all (where the wheels bolt on) and the '68 rear end is 61 inches wide over all. Measure it to see which one you have.
