my car will take itself fine into second but the moment the transmisson drops into second i either have to punch it or lightly pump it and eventually mash on the gas to get her to go then shes fine...

do i have a needle valve on a 2bbarrel carburetor? could something be dirty?

i will replace the fuel filter, is my line clogged? it squirts into the carb fine,

is it a distributor dwell/advance problem?

I'm thinking you have a plugged up idle air bleed. You're not getting the fuel you need at idle, thus the need to either supply it by pumping the accelerator pump slightly, or get on it to start up the main jets. You might try counting turns on the idle mixture screws until they seat lightly, then back them out, and use a rubber tipped blow gun to blow into the hole the needle goes in. This may or may not unplug the passages. If you don't have air and a rubber tipped gun, some carb cleaner might work, but it's nowhere near as powerful. After you're done, screw the needles back in to lightly seat them, then back them out to where they were before.
