Someone did the dance on my roof at some point in my cars life and bent both of the braces that hold the headliner bowes and dome lite up
These are in an "x" pattern inder the roof.
They are now about 1.5" down from the roof and will cause my headliner to sag and my hat to hit. :(
Any tricks?
Thanks T.C.

Well, you can use a floor jack and some long baords of wood, make sure its like a 4x4 or something somewhat big. Place the jack inside the car, might find you need to place a flat board under the jack to help hold its place and keep the jack parrall to the roof braces. Now place the 4x4 on the jack and raise the wood up and slowly continue to jack up the wood. Push the brace up some then lower the jack to check it, jack up more if need be.

Thanks for the reply:
I used a 2x4 that is just the rite size to push the brace to the roof.
It will touch all around, but I cant get it to stay put any closer than aprox 1/2".
I tried to relieve the metal on each side by tapping where I though it was bent, but it doesnt seem to get any closer.
I know I will be putting insulation between the roof and the braces that will take up some of the extra space.
How close is normal?
I would think it would be pushing on the roof?
Is it worth "cutting out" or would that be more of a problem than it would be worh?
Would I be better to just fill with more sound deadner?
Can this be taken out easy?
Any ideas or advice, coments are welcome.
