I'm thinking of having my 68 convertible painted red. Any suggestions as to a specific red, or possibly another color?

Thanks

Big dog, red is cool but my all time favorite 68 color is Tripoli Turquoise.

Right after I posted I remebered I had an old dealership brochure on 68 Chevelles. The only red was Matador Red. I'll check out the Turquoise tonight.

Are you looking for a period correct red? If so matador red would be the only one. Since it sounds like it won't be the original, how about going with a newer color red? I am planning on painting my 69 Camaro with the 2002 Corvette Torch Red. One of my favorites is the L code Teal Blue metallic for 68 (the factory color for Old Blue). Another is the Marlboro Maroon(N code).
Edit- I went to the chevy website but the colors page does not do the torch red justice. I know in person it looks great. There is a roadster at the local dealership(GMC) and it looks awesome. http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/colors.htm

Greg Martin has a beautiful 68 SS396 coupe in the original Island Teal Metalic. It's a very light blue, kind of silvery. I looked for a picture on this site with no luck, but try this link to the Gateway Chevelles Club site.

OR

- Black Metallic w/ Silver Racing Stripes

OR

- Classic Cranberry Red w/ Black SS Stripes
