: Another who makes the best trunk pan Q
Andy69 Dec 25th, 06, 8:53 PM The biggest issue I've been hearing about with regards to the fit of the trunk pans on a 69 have to do with the ribbing at the back of the car in front of the bumper - i.e. the repros for 69 don't match up with the original floor because they are based on a different year. I had a good conversation with Fred (Fame SS396) that straightned it out pretty well for me. WEllllllllll I was poking around in my catalogs and found a few differences between the various pans. Just doing a visual comparison between my original pans and two different brands it looks like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260067554052
matches up pretty well, as compared to the Goodmark pan:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-1969-1970-1971-1972-68-72-Chevelle-Trunk-Floor-Kit_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34204QQihZ016QQitem Z260069082877QQtcZphoto
which is quite a bit different. I don't know who makes the first one but it it quite a bit more expensive for the same 7 pc kit.
It looks like Ground Up sells the first one and you can buy it by the section.
Does anyone know offhand who makes it and has anyone used it as opposed to the Goodmark floor? Thanks, Andy
BlueSS454 Dec 25th, 06, 9:36 PM If it's bare steel, it's made by Sherman. I've used parts made by them for my Charger including the trunk pans, they fit perfect which kind of suprised me. The second one you show are Dynacorn pieces which are more than likely made by Golden Legion. Ground Up does not sell Sherman sheetmetal parts, I've already had that conversation with Ken, they sell Dynacorn and Goodmark parts. None of the catalog suppliers make any of the sheetmetal parts they sell, they are nothing more than a reseller for the manufactuer's which would be Goodmark, Dynacorn, and Sherman. Golden Legion sells only to Dynacorn from what I've heard, but not 100% sure on that.

Ahh so would the toe kick panels everyone sells be made by Sherman as well? Just curious. It said on the sticker they were made in Canada.
The second link is supposedly the Goodmark pan sold by Tamraz, but who knows, they might have just used another picture.
Thanks for the info, now I'm more confused  LOL :)
BlueSS454 Dec 25th, 06, 9:59 PM To make it a little more interesting fo you, thereis now a 1 piece COMPLETE trunk pan that goes from the back seat area to the pinch weld behind the bumper which includes all the braces on it. I plan on using one in my convertible.

I've seen those. I don't need to replace that much metal, otherwise I'd be all over it.
Alwhite00 Dec 25th, 06, 10:11 PM The Sherman 80% 1/4's & outer wheel houses for my 70 were EDP coated and had Goodmark part numbers & stickers as well as the Sherman part numbers. The fit is excellent though.

So, who is selling this and who has it in stock???? Thanks, Mike
BlueSS454 Dec 25th, 06, 10:43 PM Goodmark is selling, I've also seen it on ebay a few times. It's going for just over $450. I would think most Goodmark dealers would have it in stock or can get it within a couple days.
