I have a '66 Chevelle wagon with a 400 small block, TH400 trans and a 12-bolt (non-posi) that I think is 3.31 ratio...
I had to remove a bunch of "extra" wires (aftermarket crusie control, etc), and therefore have NO kickdown switch on the trans...
While taking my car for its shakedown cruise, I got on it a bit (okay, I put the pedal to the floor and held it there)... When It shifted into 2nd, it easily "barked' the tires (well, one tire anyway).
It doesn't seem overly harsh, especially at part throttle (I experienced that years ago with the vacuum line off, I recall)... Just sound like a shift kit?
