I was wondering if anyone here ever blasted the firewall on their car?? Is it ok to do?? Will it cause damage?? Also, has anyone here ever blasted the interior of their car?? Everything is out of the inside and was wondering if it is ok to do?? Thanks.

Freddy, It would be OK to media blast both. Remember plastic media will not take off rust.

Don't waste your time unless the car is almost completely disassembled (interior). No matter how well you tape off, the media compound will get everywhere. It does an excellent job however and won't pit the metal. I especially like doing firewalls as the factory inspection marks become very visable. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/cool.gif

The car is completely disassembled, no interior, dash, nothing in the inside. The engine compartment is also empty, disassembled. I was more concerned with damaging, wraping the sheet metal. Could anyone help me with that?????

Freddy,
Don't worry about warping. You would really have to get carried away with a media blaster to warp the medal. Media runs much cooler due to less friction created thereby reducing the chance for warpage. I have never had anything warped using media.

Make sure the headliner is out also or you will pay dearly for that one. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

If your worried about warping, Try keeping the pressure down, and raise it as needed. Cal
