68 2 door Sedan Chevelle Malibu. Changed engine to a 305.

After I changed the heads, my generator light continues to stay on only when the key is in the off or alt position. I have changed the alt/voltage regulator/ignition switch twice/starter silenoid/starter/ & pulled fuses one at a time. I have to disconnnect my battery every day or I lose enough juice to start my car. The other thing I noticed is I lost my back up lights. I checked the bulbs/changed them and checked the fuse. Nothing. I can't figure it out. Short of going broke with an electrician, I really need help.

If the alternator wires are routed over the intake manifold, then make sure they aren't pinched between the head and valve cover. Just a thought.
