Can anybody tell me what to do so my icons are not all internet explorer ones. I dont know what happen but they all changed. I did a search but cant find anything..? Is it a setting somewhere i need to change or something. It use to save those special icons a while back. Thanks for any help.

It's difficult to guess what your problem may be since we don't know if you run current antivirus, anti spyware software and such but there is a program from Micro$oft developers that has a repair fuction to rebuld your icons. It's called Tweakui (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx). You could give it a try.

Tony. Try to right click on the Icon, Then click "change Icon" it should bring up the proper Icon click on it and click apply.

Thanks guys...I forgot to say i running XP and webroot spy sweeper...do ya think that is the problem too..? as far as changing the icon, its not there when i search for it. all it has is windows default icons. you think that add on will keep the icons..? thanks for the help guys ! !

What happens when you click on the icons?

Do all of them open IE?

Just refresh the icon cache by deleting the IconCache.db file from your profile directory (usually /Documents and Settings/Username/Local Settings/Application Data). It will be automatically recreated.
