Last year I saw a product featured in some car magazine that was a brush applied primer surfacer. It was a kit intended for the hobbyist who might have small parts to do and not have immediate access to spray equipment.Does any one know what this product is or where it can be obtained?

PPG has a roll-on Surfacer. Go to local PPG dealer, they should have it. I would use a foam roller when rolling it on.

almost all brands offer it know, but it is usually a roll on. trucks on powerblock did this on there y10k s-10. they replaced a small section of the cab corner. you could try there web sight.

Yep, all the big paint companies have directions to roll on their primer. S-W also has a "squeegee primer" that has some posibilitys. I have tried it just once, it will take some practice. I ordered some wider squeegees that I am waiting for before I try it again.

By the way, Rubberseal makes a REAL, I mean REAL 2K epoxy and an iso free filler primer in an aerosol can!!

I have a can of each out in the garage that I will be doing a review on when I get the time to test it.

I can tell you that the PPG roll-on primer gets harder than chinese arithmetic. I made the mistake on using this on a complete hood that I had stripped. I had to sand it with 80 grit on the DA to get it flat enough to put regular 2K primer on.

There is no doubt about it, it is for smaller areas.
