I installed the driver's window on my 65 with the bumper stop that mounts at the bottom of the door. The bumper stop seems to mount only one way. My problem is that the window doesn't roll down flush with the top of the door. It sticks up about one inch. Is that the way it's supposed to be? Unfortunately I didn't take the thing apart.

while I dont own a 65, the window setup should be similar to my 66 up cars. The lower stops set the height of the window, and are usually mounted to slots in the door frame so they have up/down adjustment. If your adjustment is all used up, then I would assume the stop is upside down. Most are shaped like an "L" and the horizontal end can be at the top or bottom depending on how you bolt it to the door.

My 64 Elky has two sets of mounting holes/slots for the stop bracket, one higher than the other.
There is no height adjustment for the "L" shaped stop once installed - except to bend it.
Both were low enough to let the glass disappear several inches into the door. I had to make a spacer to stop the window level with the door top (which is where I wanted it).
Before modification, mine were bent at a 90 degree angle with approx. 1/4 inch rubber pad on them.
