Hey fellas, I have a 69 Malibu that's pretty rough at the back half of the car. I am most likely going to tub it, unless I can find a good parts car with a good donor trunk area. I have a vinyl top so the filler panel between the rear windsheild and trunk lid is a bit crunchy. My Vinyl top which was is black is actually white on where the material covers the filler panel and where it wraps around the back window. The white goes up about 4 inches. I can put pressure on it and it doesn't press thru. When I looked at the filler panel from inside the trunk it had no holes. I know that if I use full 1/4s, they will take care of the area all the way up to the filler panel. Could I use 1/4 skins and get away with it? I can get them here in town for 140 a side. Whereas full NOS 1/4s that I will have to track down will run me anywhere from 600 to 1000 per side. Tryin to look at the big picture here. I already have my front floors and toe pans so I am set up there. What do you all suggest I do? Don't really WANT to go all out prostreet but it's an option.

Drive it like you stole it everytime, for tomorrow may never come.

And on the 7th day god said let there be an engine who's legendary brute force will never be matched, and loe the Chevrolet big block was born.

It's amazing, after all this time she still runs.

Looking at the big picture, it tells me get the full quarter and forget the partial. The partial will need up costing you more money down the road to install and in the end all you will have is a quarter full of mud. Partial quarters are cheap to buy but not to install. Why weld the entire length of the quarter when you can just drill out a few spot welds? Also you make it sound like you need to do some patching around the rear window area?, why do a patial and then on top of that weld in a ptach? Sounds like a junk quarter that needs to be replaced. Replace the whole thing and forget it about it, patch it and then redo it later down the road, that a tough one!
