My brother and I recently purchased a 1970 LS5 with a beautiful #78 Black Cherry with White Stripes paint job. Neither of us had ever owed a car with anything other than a factory paint job. Off the cuff, someone said to us, take care of that paint job, don't clean or polish it too much. We washed and towel dried it once and it looked beautiful, we did not polish it. We want to know how we should be caring for the finishes, paint, chrome and the rubber SS pad on the back bumber. Also the car will be garaged should it be covered too? Best product to keep those Bias Plys looking good? Last but not least, what should we use on the original black vinyle interior? Thanks from a couple of guys who haven't owned a Chevelle since 1976. :D

Polish will not damage your paint. Polish does not remove any paint.
The best polish out there now is Meguiar's mirror glaze 9 .
It will give you a mile deep mirror finish.
You won't believe it.
You can put it on by hand or a buffer which takes all the work out of it.
