quick question on the PS box.
a short time back my old PS box started leaking, I went to a salvage yard and got one from a 75 Monte Carlo (was told they are same)
the car steered differant, it kind of felt like as you turn the wheel at a point it felt like it started turning faster or something. I am worried that when i had the box switched the monte pitman arm was left on, would that make a differance?

You didn't mention what year Chevelle that you have. If it was an early one, 1965 - 1969 it most likely had a 17:1 ratio power gear (pretty slow with lots of steering wheel turns.) My best guess on the MC gear was that it is most likely a variable ratio, 15:1 on center and 13:1 near full lock. So you would feel the steering ratio becoming faster as you near a full lock turn.
Most of the early Chevelles had steering gears that had a sweep of 87 degrees with the pitman shaft. The MC would have around 80 degrees. So you might increase your turning circle by some amount.
Make sure that you determine that your gear is right on center by placing the flat on the input shaft exactly at 12 o'clock. (Looking at the gear from the driver position.) Some of the later MC and Chevelle gears came from the factory with a little more pitman shaft travel in right turn than left turn. If you look for it, you might notice just a little tighter turning circle in right turn than left.
I am not versed on the pitman arm length.

Your MC box sounds like it has a variable ratio.
