I saw a post about transmission gear lube and older trans and synchros saying to use sf4 instead of sf5, can't find it anybody know about this, it said the wrong oil ate up the synchros.

I can't believe it's still not a sticky? The lubrication factor is GL4 that is needed for the muncie synchros, most everything that is sold today is GL5 and it was either too viscous or too acidic, I forget which......but the Redline brand of products makes a GL4 which is Muncie safe. JN

You can also use valvoline gl-4 or gl-5 with the mt-1 spec. I was told it is the mt-1 spec that mattered most I have valvoline gl-5 with the mt-1 spec in my auto gera m22, and it shifts fine.
