Yes, I'd like an answer to this, but I don't know what year the string is.

What is it with people getting on here and asking questions without telling us the year they are referring to?

Perhaps with peoples names that are required. We should start to encourage folks to put thier cars year and model in thier sig or something? (I should probably practice what I preach:o ).

Not everyone can be a literary scholar.
Not like you need much more info than model, year, and a basic outline of what the heck you want help with.

It does, however, open the door to having some fun with equally obscure answers.

Some of these questions require answers like my favorite: How long does it take you to drive?

Let me ask you a simpler question.
What's the difference between a chicken?
or
Do you walk to work or carry your lunch?

I agree, name location and vehicle should be a must.

DANG NATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I thought it was just me!!!!!!!!!!
Buddy, you got that one RIGHT!
Now, if we can just get them to include the year that they are asking about, OR, STOP POLUTING VIDEOS OF CARS, PLANES, BOATS, RACE CARS WITH MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD CALL!

i agree with you, but dang dude! lighten up a bit...... we all forget things ( heck, everytime i post a question i know i forget at least one thing). IMHO it ain't fair to call out certain people like that (the links to threads you posted above) i bet more than half the people on this forum have forgot something similar AT LEAST once.

i will shut up now.:)

I can understand the frustration with the 2nd one, but on the first, it's clearly a process of elimination... '70-72 are the ONLY years that an SS had a different dash, so that's what information I'd give him. :)

Jay,
It is NOT you specifically, its the yo-yos that do it ROUTINELY. ;)

6"

That's the inverse. Every piece of string, rope, twine, etc. is actually 6" too short.

No........we don't need that, just a little common sense when asking questions.

Oh by the way, 6 is correct. The answer is always 6 :D

The reason I asked, how long is a piece of string, is because when these guys get on here and ask a specific question about their Chevelle and do not disclose the year of the car, it's like asking a question nobody can answer. Hence the comparison.

We obviously have some very smart people on here, because some of you knew how long the piece of string is. ...........nice !

this question is gender biased
if you ask the wife's .... its 3"
if you ask the guys ..... 10" (folded in half)

I agree with Alex from Texas. Name at least first name. yr of car. where your from. age would be nice. we don't need there address. Just city would be nice. Fill it out like a work app. sure is nice to know who your talking too. And a little about them. I mean this isn't the FBI. Dang it. get with the program. ok said my peace. and on this day PEACE TO EVERYONE out there. RICK in Minn

This is the last time I am answering the string question, in the future do a search.
up to 6" is a piece, 6" - 24" a length and from 24" up it is a ball of string
This should be clear enough even for Stewart G. Griffin :D :D

The question makes me think that How Long actually is a piece of string....

Like that How Long is a Chinaman joke.:D

Perhaps the piece of string is actually named Howe Long?
