My son and I have succesfully replaced the floor pan on the pass side. It was a struggle as we had no idea what we were doing. Now it looks like that pan belongs there. Hopefully the other side and rear seat floor pan will go much quicker, now that we have some experience under our belt. It took us from August until December to get this far, working about 6 hours a week (minus vacation in November). We took it slow and easy, made some mistakes we had to correct, but the finished product was worth it. We sandwiched the pan between the rockers. The pics don't show the dressed welds and finished off with glass filler. The bottom side will get a treatment of seam sealer.

Looks good Kevin! Is that a repro toe kick I see in the last picture? The driver side it a tough one to make fit, at least on my 69.

I should have mine in by early next week.

Yeah that's a repop toe pan. I still have to pu that one in. Should be easy comparatively speaking. I hope the driver's side goes OK.

Matt, Scott,

Thanks guys. I'm looking forward to getting the rest of this job complete so I can get the body off the frame and really get to work.

Nice Job Kevin and son!! This part of the restoration is tough. It takes a lot of patience. I have finished my driver's floor, passenger rear, and lower quarters. I'm almost done with the trunk floor, which has been the toughest!! Good luck!

Thanks Dave. Wow, the trunk was the toughest? Something to look forward to. I'm hoping it gets easier.

Kevin & Son, nice job and great pics. Forget about it getting any easyier as you go. I started w/ my full rear seat pan and Rear brace, took me two days to get it out and I made a mess out of the rear seat brace seam.I ended up gutting the entire bottom of the car seat pan to tail panel. Wow I had know idea it would be this much work and I own every metal cutting tool known to man plus I know how to use them. Sad thing is I loved every second of it !

Keep up the good work.

Tony
