How does this sound for my '66?

383ci SBC making 480hp and 510lb-ft torque

Compression- 9 to 1

Block- (GM 10105123) All new cast iron, four bolt mains with 4.000-inch bore

Crankshaft- 4130 forged 400ci forged steel with nitride-hardened bearing journals 3.750 stroke

Connecting rods- Pro 4340 steel H-beam 6.000

Head chamber size- 64cc

Valve sizes- int. 2.02, ext. 1.60 stainless steel

Rocker arms- Stainless roller rocker arms, 3/8-inch 1.5 ratio

Camshaft lift- int. 0.520, ext. 0.540 hydraulic roller

Camshaft duration- Int. 236 degrees, ext. 242 degrees @ .050

Lobe sepaeration- 110 degrees

Lifters- Hydraulic

Intake manifold- Single plane


How about some suggestions for a trans to put behind it?

Go with BB and use a 400 trans. JMO

2. What do you want it to be when you're done?

3. How long do you plan to keep it?

4. What do you think you can sell it for after you put all that $$$ into it?

i got almost the exact same setup for my 383 for my 66 el camino i dont know how ur gonna pull off 9 to 1 compression mine is 10.5-1 as for a trans cant go wrong with an ol reliable 3 speed automatic 350 or 400 there both cheap easy to rebuild and reliable and can take a beating
