yea the wheels are pretty nice, i was originally going to get a new set of torque thrust d's but the guy who painted my car saw these in the paper so i called the guy and picked them up with tires for $550, with lug nuts. they were on a 57 chevy the guy was going to put 17 in. wheels on. man am i happy. saved me some bucks and in the long run. i like the torque thrustII's better.

i bought them through ground up. they are made by phoenix graphix. heck that's where you live. not sure if you can by direct from them though but it's worth a try. the shop is where i work. after hours i am putting it all together. my father has a auto repair shop also, so i got the best of all worlds. my father does custom exhaust bending and reading all the exhaust post on here i can't believe that there aren't that many good pipe benders out there. i did a frame off and have pics of everything that was done to the car burned to a cd. just in case of a total loss and i got proof. keep working guys and gals it's worth it. the only bad thing is when it's done i'll be bored as heck!! i think i'm having more fun working on it graemlins/clonk.gif

What color is that? My car is definatly getting Yenko side stripes when it's painted (minus the Yenko S/C wording probably) and I really like how the stripes look with that red.

Looks great!

No offense to ANYONE...but that's potentially the most eyecatching car I've seen on TC. I'm a big Yenko fan. The combo of those tell-tale sYc stripes and that eye-searing red....oh man oh man.

Anyone think that scheme would look good in Fathom Blue on a 70? graemlins/waving.gif

I'm building a replica SS-427 69 El Camino. Wonder how a pair of those Yenko side decals would look on my Burgundy Metallic paint?

Well,I talked to Chris at Phoenix Graphix a few minutes ago. Yes,they do sell the Yenko stripe kits for Chevelles and Novas(probably Camaros too but I forgot to ask)and their prices are considerably cheaper. They also offer custom colors besides Black & white. I'm thinking about ordering mine in Silver w/White letters or White w/Silver lettering.

Those stripe kits are only available for Chevelles,I think. Are El Camino doors shorter, longer,or the same length?

I just picked up a 69 that is going to be a major project and planned on a red with black stripe and lower highlights but that white does look nice. I may switch to the white stripe even if it's not the Yenko. But if it can be had with out the text that may be the way to go. The car looks great. Good luck.

Clint - the Yenko stripes on that site are only black or white, but I looked in the Ground Up catalogue today and there was a red 69 Yenko Clone with a black stripe. Looks as sharp as the white, and I think the white stripe kinda leads to a white interior. Definately cant keep that clean with kids. Here's the picture from Ground Up.

I just talked to the owner at Phoenix Graphix a few days ago and all their stripe kits can be ordered in custom colors for the same price.($190)
